About Dr. Cardenas

Dr. Cynthia Cardenas is the dentist behind Twin Dental in Naperville, Illinois. Originally from Michigan, she has called Naperville home since 2005 and brings a unique mix of clinical skill, discipline, service, and personal warmth to her practice.

Dr. Cardenas graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2000 through a United States Naval Health Scholarship. After dental school, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency and then served five years on active duty as a Dental Officer in the U.S. Navy.

One of the defining chapters of her career was her assignment to the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67). In January 2002, she deployed to the Persian Gulf for a 6.5-month tour in support of Operation Enduring Freedom — an experience that shaped her perspective on leadership, pressure, teamwork, and service.

Today, at Twin Dental, Dr. Cardenas provides general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry, including crowns, bridges, dentures, extractions, implants, root canal therapies, and surgical extractions. She is also certified by the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE) to administer Botox and dermal fillers.

Outside the office, Dr. Cardenas is a proud mother of twin boys — the inspiration behind the practice name Twin Dental. She enjoys being active in her church, cooking, reading, traveling with her sons, and being their biggest sports fan.
